How long have we been out of college? Dear God.

So as most of you probably already know, Chris and I really are not that extravigant. We are probably the rednecks of the group. So when we were in college (which we have been done with for how many years now maybe 8 years) we used a lot of hand me down furniture, including a love seat Chris found somewhere. Luckily when we moved to Gillette we were able to up grade to a couch and chair purchased from a furniture store and no one had owned them before. So this move I convinced Chris that we should get rid of the free table and chairs we have had for the last 9 years. I am pretty sure it was in style in 1982 and was fabulous then, but free in 1998 and two kids later--no good. So to make a long story long, we got a new set delivered today! I am so excited! The kids and I made some funfetti cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles while listening to some CMT. Good times. I am not sure the delivery guys were gone yet by the time Zoey had frosting all over my new dining room set. But what's life without a little frosting?
Its a sunny warm 45 degrees out today. The kids did get a chance to go on the deck and blow some bubbles this morning. However, while all sounds well, don't forget I am a meanie. We still have quite a few boxes from moving. Isaac loves them and is very frustrated if I try to thow any away. So last night he wants to sleep in a small box and I flat out told him NO. I made him sleep in his bed with his spiderman comforter and he cried and cried while calling a me a meanie. "Your just a meanie Mom."

1,3,4,9,99

No pictures today. You all will just have to wait. Plus it has been raining and whatnot. We are plugging away at the house in hopes to have everything done before April 5 when our first guests arrive.
Isaac and Zoey are growing so much. They play pretty well together most of the time. Today they cooperated very well which was fun to watch. However, I accidentally started a fight that I wasn't sure I could fix. I had asked Isaac to put his lunch plate in the dishwasher and then let Sherman out. Well Zoey was by the door and Ike was busy so I also asked her to let Sherman out. One job for two kids doesn't quite add up. Zoey is a little talker and singer. Her favorite song is "the wheels on the bus go round and round", but likes to make up songs as she goes. Isaac is so proud of his projects at preschool. They are still learning letters, but he can spell all of his classmates names. This morning he was talking about a million (a lot) and I told him that was a pretty big number and eventually I asked him if he knew how to count to a million. So Zoey starts counting 1, 3, 4, 9, 99 as she always counts (which by the way 99 is her favorite number) and Isaac starts over trying to help her learn her numbers. He gets to 12 and then goes all out of order. He says when you count to a million you don't have to count in order. Who knew?
My job is still going well. Next year they are going to open a new high school, so everyone is gearing up for that. This year we had 2 JV teams in most sports this year to help support the split for next year. I haven't had the chance yet to see the new training room over there, but I am sure new is very nice. Hopfully by the end of May I will now which school I will be working at next year.

Pictures

Zoey wanted to take a walk the other day while the guys were out and about.

WHAT TO BLOG ABOUT NEXT

So I went to the quote of the day and I guess it should have read quotes of the day.
1-"Never keep up with the Jones's, drag them down to your level." Quentin Crisp
Still just pluggin' away at the house. No new news. Pictures to come when completed.
2-"Either I have been missing something or nothing has been going on." Karen Elizabeth Gordon I have been busy at work with the start of the spring season, but honestly nothing has been going on. I think we can all wonder though what I have been missing.
3-"When we remember that we are all mad, the mysteries disapear and life stands explained" Mark Twain I guess that's good to know. Sometimes its good to have life explained. Or something.
There was a fourth quote I felt was retarded and not worth repeating. Guess I didn't get it.

Have a bright day!!

Its such a nice sunny day!

We are getting so close to making our house a home. Chris has finished the flooring and will start on the walls next. I don't expect that to take to long. He had better wire the house for Dish Network tonight though. I am getting VERY frustrated about that. However, last night I did not unpack, clean or scrub. I sat on my couch and watched a movie. Can you believe it? I haven't seen that couch since August 11, 2006. We are officially out of the storage unit and still have more to move from the apartment, but hope to be fully out of that by Sunday.

Isaac and Zoey are having so much fun going outside to play. Its still a little muddy, but he likes to run around the house. This morning he found a pail and shovel (for sand) and started scooping the snow. I am trying to convince Zoey that she should be potty trained, so we tried the pull ups again this morning. No luck. She did use the potty once, but felt she needed a new pull up. After that she decided that pull ups and diapers are the same anyway. So now I am seriously thinking on just getting her some real underwear so she can tell the difference. We'll see.

Couldn't stay way too long

Anyway, we have moved about 80% of our belongings to the house. We have no furniture in the house except for the spare bed and a bean bag. I keep telling Chris to move the couch out of storage and into our bedroom (he is still working on the flooring). But having a couch will not keep either one of us on task. New carpet has been laid in the bedroom, walls have been painted (some twice as I couldn't quite pick the right color) and Chris has most of the floor laid that we are putting in the kitchen, dining room and living room. Boxes galore! But it is coming together nicely. We took a walk yesterday down by the river. It was very nice. Isaac was the leader (got me stuck in some bushes once) but did a good job over all. He was telling me the rules as we have told him several times that he needs an adult to walk on the trails with. He tells me I need 2 or 3 partners . The kids were exhausted this weekend. Yesterday naps unfortunately went to the wayside and Ike took two walks, plus the time change. This morning he told me it was still nite nite time. He was still sleeping. Last Friday he was so tired that when I got him up for preschool he said he just needed a short nap first. Nap time is at 1pm sharp, not 6:30 am sweetie.

Well we are fully in the process of moving. All week we have been going back and forth beteween the apartment and the house. Not much news, but I think this will be the last blog until we get the internet switched over. So I sent a not so pretty picture of the work we are doing. We have pulled up the carpet and started to paint. Hopefully today we will get a majority of our stuff over there and sleep there tonight. The flooring and walls are going slowly but surely. And don't laugh even though Ike appears to look like Napolean Dynamite with those boots on. The weather has been very warm here. Melting the snow during the day and creating thick ice on our driveway at night. I have also included a picture I took from our deck. The fog had actually lifted (which it doesn't do very often) and you could see the mountains. I realized this after I was working in the house, noticed it was a little dark. I now have windows so I opened all the blinds, opened all the windows--got cold and closed them all.

Good Bye Little Box

Tomarrow not only will I become a home owner, but I will have a place to call home! This little box of mine was only intended to be temporary space to put our stuff while we looked for a home. It did provide us that (well actually most of our stuff is in storage), but nothing more. Notice no windows, no couch, no dining room set, however, we did have three chairs to sit our family of 4 at. Unfortuantely you cannot see Zoey's zebra behind the kitchen chairs. I took this picture on the day the realtor came so most of the toys have miraculously found a space other than the walkways. I probably will not take pictures of our new house until we are mostly moved in as we are going to do some work on it before we move out of the apartment.
Zoey: Favorite saying "I WANT IT NOW!" (often times followed by a time out)
We have come to watch deal or no deal and she really likes the "No Deal" very cute when she says it, but never Deal.
Favorite foods: Cheese and crackers not always together, but she could eat either all the time.
The other day I dropped her off at daycare and talked for a while with her teacher. They are so amazed with her. She is very sassy for them as well, but shows great ability to create both 2D and 3D geometrical creations. She finds patterns very easily. Acording to her teacher she should be good at math and will need much guidance.
Isaac:This little jokester likes to throw snowballs, play in the snow, run really fast and be my helper. He can write most of his letters and actually enjoys learning. If there is a letter he does not know or needs practice at he has me dot it out so that he can trace it. Next year I cannot believe he will be five! He will just miss the cut off for kindergarden so I will send him to pre-K. He has started the book it program where you read books for Pizza Hut pizza.

NATA MONTH

March is National Athletic Trainers' Month. The theme this year is Quality Health Care and Wellness. Certified athletic trainers have been working hard to make sure everyone has access to athletic training services as well as protecting our name and profession. This year both the states of Montana and Wyoming are passing a licensure bill that would allow certified athletic trainers to become licensed professionals. This will let us bill insurance for services provided by a certified athletic trainer as well as prevent uncertified/licensed people from practicing as an athletic trainer. On the national level we are also passing a bill that will let us treat those patients who have medicare. There is a large population who is not able to receive athletic training services due to medicare restrictions, especially from those certified athletic trainers who are working as physician extenders. Our profession has been working hard and making great progress in athletic training.

What is an athletic trainer? Certified athletic trainers are health care professionals who specialize in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries that result from physical activity. As part of a complete health care team, the certified athletic trainer works under the direction of a licensed physician and in cooperation with other allied health care professionals, athletic adminstrators, coaches and parents.

In the photos (which I don't know how to properly arrange yet), I have my training room.

I have some very wonderful student athletic trainers who have helped me this season. Erica and Maggie are high school students who are working with boys and girls basketball respecitivly. Jessica is a college student working on her hours to become a certified athletic trainer. I would love to give a big shout out to the Braves as the boys and girls both won tonight and will be advancing to state!
